After almost five years of annual week-long art festivals at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music, the Afro-Punk collective is hitting the road in both Canada and the US for its first national tour.

The tour will kick off at the Blender Theater in New York City with performances by Saul Williams, CX KiDTONiK and Tchaka Diallo, as part of the CMJ Music Marathon. Inspired by the 2003 film of the same name, Afro-Punk is a cultural movement intended to give a voice to a multi-cultural generation of musicmakers who utilize Afro-Punk's message board to communicate and relate to one another. The acclaimed movement debuted in 2005 at the Afro-Punk Film, Skate, BMX, And Art Festival in Brooklyn, New York, and has featured such artists as the Noisettes, the Dirtbombs, Earl Greyhound and the Apes.
