Superchunk to Release First Album in Nine Years

The Chapel Hill-based indie rock band Superchunk have announced they will release their first album in nine years. Majesty Shredding is due September 14 in the U.S. on Merge, the label co-founded by Superchunk members Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance.



The North Carolina band made the album with producer Scott Solter (St. Vincent, Mountain Goats) and Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle helped provide backing vocals.
