CHICAGO’S YELLOW PILLS DROP ANOTHER ECLECTIC MASTERPIECE Yellow Pills

Ryan Miera of famed Chicago band The Limbos had always had his quiet side project Yellow Pills but in recent years it’s taken on a life of it’s own.

Yellow Pills returns with another fantastic home run! ‘Death By Elvis’ is an interesting mix of well everything. People who have good taste in music are going to here something to love on this whether indie hip hop, the lead off Gogol Bordello-ish track, the jazz adjacent or surf rock or synth wave, this album just does it all and does it well. Yellow Pills is the solo project of bandleader Ryan Miera who is the person behind Chicago’s surf soul indie project The Limbos. However in recent years Yellow Pills his side project has taken on a life of it’s own. Doing well across the country on indie radio starting in 2021 with 2 LP’s: Space Age Inferno and Machines That Go Beep. As if that wasn’t enough Miera followed it up with 2022’s Too Many Metrics.

You may wonder what leads to such an eclectic artists, well Miera in a recent interview stated, “Miles Davis is certainly somebody I listen to a LOT. His sound is really really comforting. I'm a nervous flyer and I have some Miles Davis downloaded to my phone because he really calms me… definitely have always had a strong love of instrumental surf music and found a strong love for Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet ever since I was a kid. They really nailed how to have a surf sound but NOT be a surf band per se.”It's easy to see in that one paragraph how anyone who’s mentioning Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet and Miles Davis all in the same space are going to produce some interesting music.

Yellow Pills brings another delivery of momentous music that still delivers the perfect dose of vintage, evocative & captivating sounds with none of the trendy repetitive routines other tired instrumental acts are trying to achieve. Death By Elvis drops on 2/10/23 but today at Rebel Noise.com you can here a special advanced track, “The Bad Intentions of Natalie Nerlinger”, but we warn you it’s just a very small taste clocking in at under two minutes. So check it out and then head on over to Yellow Pill’s Spotify page to catch up with one of the most prolific indie artists in the US.
