Toronto psych-rock group Lammping teams up with Montreal’s Bloodshot Bill for “Never Never,” a gritty, sample-based track that blends psychedelic rock and experimental hip-hop.

Toronto band Lammping is back with a new song called “Never Never,” featuring Montreal rockabilly artist Bloodshot Bill. The track is out now on the label We Are Busy Bodies, and it leads up to their next album, Never Never, which will be released on June 27. This album is the first part of a four-album project that will include many sounds, styles, and special guests over the next year.

Lammping is known for mixing psychedelic rock with hip-hop beats and sample-based sounds. Their music is noisy, fuzzy, and full of unexpected turns. For this project, Lammping’s Mikhail Galkin returned to his roots in sample-heavy hip-hop, a style he explored earlier in his career as DJ Alibi. But instead of just beats, he added real instruments and wild textures to create something new.

The song “Never Never” started with a saxophone loop found by drummer Jay Anderson. Bloodshot Bill, whose voice is raw and unusual, joined the session when he was visiting Toronto. What began as one track turned into three, with the band mixing live jams, breakbeat-style drums, and distorted samples. Galkin says he loved how Bill’s voice could shift moods quickly—sometimes loud and sharp, sometimes low and smooth.

Bill brought his love of old-school rap—like LL Cool J and Run DMC—into the studio, blending it with Lammping’s heavy psych-rock style. The result is a song that’s loud, messy, and completely original. It doesn’t fit easily into one genre, but that’s what makes it so interesting.

The music video, created by Galkin, matches the song’s wild energy with trippy visuals and strange images. It opens the door to the band’s bigger plan: four albums full of sounds from different times and scenes, all tied together by bold ideas and real creative energy.

Lammping’s music is weird in the best way—rough around the edges, full of risk, and totally their own. Fans of psychedelic rock and experimental hip-hop will find something exciting in this track.
