London DIY hardcore punk outfit Le Rox droped their new single “Pain Relief” this month, through Berlin-based label Red Tape Music. Written during a turbulent period in vocalist Laura’s life, the track channels heartbreak, self-destruction, and the pull of toxic desire into a fierce, cathartic burst of sound.
Originally, the band debated shelving the song for being too raw. Instead, it’s become one of their most defining statements - a direct, unfiltered look at the emotional wreckage of a fractured relationship. The lyrics sit on the edge of desperation, while the music surges forward with Le Rox’s signature high-energy punk spirit, spiked with hardcore bite and flashes of metal grit.
Guitarist Steffan handled production, shaping the track into something equally abrasive and anthemic. “Pain Relief” leans into the band’s love for speed, heaviness, and hooks, creating a crossover that feels immediate and unpolished in the best way. It’s a vulnerable song, but one that still begs to be shouted back in a crowded venue.
Formed by members from the UK, Brazil, and Venezuela, Le Rox have built a name in the UK’s punk scene through a relentless DIY ethic and uncompromising live sets. Their debut release earned BBC Radio 1 Introducing airplay with Alyx Holcombe, and they’ve played stages at Manchester Punk Festival and Facedown London at Scala.
Looking ahead, the band will make their first European festival appearance at Ain’t Like You in Germany in 2026, marking another milestone in their rise from small DIY rooms to international stages.
With “Pain Relief,” Le Rox sharpen their sound and push their songwriting further than before, proving they can balance raw personal truth with the kind of volume and velocity that keeps punk vital.
