Harker Release New Single “Redacted,” A Stark Look at Leaving the Past Behind Harker

Harker return with their new single “Redacted,” a sharp punk track about escaping painful memories and setting the stage for their next album in 2026.

Brighton punk rock group Harker have returned with their new single “Redacted,” offering another clear look at the band’s still-unannounced album set for 2026. The song comes right after the band’s first shows in the United States, including a strong appearance at Gainesville’s long-running punk event, THE FEST.

“Redacted” focuses on the kind of memories people try to push away. Vocalist and guitarist Mark Boniface explains that the song deals with mistakes, old ties, and the lingering weight of people who once felt important. He says the track reflects the need to pull yourself out of situations that keep bringing the same hurt, and how choosing your own well-being is sometimes the only way to grow.

The new single follows “I Ruin Everything,” a rough and piercing track about living with ADHD and Boniface’s own diagnosis. That earlier release set the emotional tone for the upcoming album, which leans into blunt, personal themes. Both songs were recorded and mixed by Toby May, with the band adding extra production, and later mastered by Jason Livermore at the well-known Blasting Room Studios.

Harker continue to show the sharp, guitar-driven sound they’ve built over the years. Their style blends the tense edge of Dischord-era punk with the warm, blown-out feel of ’90s indie rock. Clear melodic lines cut through their songs, giving “Redacted” and “I Ruin Everything” the kind of direct, energetic pull that fits well in crowded basements and festival stages. The band aim for music that feels immediate and honest, shaped by steady rhythms, fuzzy guitars, and vocals that carry real weight.

Since starting in 2015, Harker have released two charting albums and toured across the UK, Europe, and Japan. What began as Boniface playing small house shows has grown into a full, tightly focused group known for tuneful but raw punk that connects with wide audiences. With “Redacted,” they show that their next chapter is set to be even more intense and clear-voiced.
