THE COCKS Drop “Brotein” - A Punk Rock Rager with an AI-Generated Fever Dream of a Video THE COCKS
Reviewed by Sam Lowry

The L.A. punk provocateurs unleash “Brotein,” a high-octane glam-punk anthem paired with a delirious AI-generated carnival video.

Los Angeles hell-raisers THE COCKS are back, serving up their loudest, sleaziest anthem yet with “Brotein,” a hard-charging punk rock single that’s equal parts satire and chaos. True to their “Monkees-meets-Marx-Brothers” brand of anarchy, the band pairs the song with a deliriously unhinged AI-generated music video that turns turn-of-the-century Americana into a glam-fueled carnival nightmare.

The clip finds the band digitally warped into a Dust Bowl circus circa 1910, fronting a crowd of carnival freaks and snake oil salesmen while hawking a miracle elixir called Brotein — guaranteed to transform the drab into the fabulous. It’s absurd, it’s brilliant, and it perfectly captures everything that makes THE COCKS tick: high-volume irreverence, whip-smart humor, and zero interest in playing it safe.

Musically, “Brotein” is a roaring slab of glam-tinged punk — all crunching riffs, shouted choruses, and strutting bravado. Imagine Turbonegro hijacking a New York Dolls rehearsal while AC/DC handles soundcheck, and you’re halfway there. The single follows in the band’s proud lineage of tongue-in-cheek bangers like “It’s Better Being Gay” and “Cheeseburgers & Dick,” pushing their trademark mix of punk grit and glam ridiculousness to the limit.

Frontman Zsa, ever the ringleader in his trademark sailor hat, leads a powerhouse lineup featuring Tchad Drats on guitar, Mike McCormick on drums, and Jason Halogen on bass — a tight, swaggering unit that somehow makes chaos sound professional. Together, they’ve built a cult following with their wild live shows and unfiltered social media presence, turning what started as a joke side project into one of L.A.’s most outrageous punk acts.

With a sophomore album (Endless Hummer) on the way in spring 2026, THE COCKS are doubling down on their mission: keep rock dangerous, keep it fun, and never take themselves too seriously. “Brotein” is out now on all platforms — loud, fast, and FCC-clean (for once).
