Punk veterans channel speed, melody, and unity on the latest single from The Bridges That We Burn.

Minneapolis punk rock trio ULTRABOMB released their new single “Look Forward In Anger” on February 13. The track is the latest preview from their upcoming LP, The Bridges That We Burn, which arrives April 3 through DC-Jam Records and Virgin Music Group.

ULTRABOMB features Greg Norton of Hüsker Dü on bass and vocals, Derek O’Brien of Social Distortion, Agent Orange, and Adolescents on drums and vocals, and Ryan Smith of Soul Asylum on guitar and vocals. All three members bring long histories in punk and alternative rock, and that experience drives the band’s fast, melodic sound.

“Look Forward In Anger” delivers sharp riffs, tight drums, and direct vocals. The song focuses on division in modern politics and the need for unity. Norton described it as a response to partisan conflict, saying the message comes down to choosing love over nonsense. The track keeps a steady, driving pace while balancing grit and melody.

The single follows two earlier releases this year, “Artificial Stars,” which came out January 2, and “Checked Out,” released January 23. Those songs introduced listeners to this new chapter of the band. Reviews have highlighted ULTRABOMB’s blend of classic punk speed with a modern edge. Magnet called the group “a swift blow to the sternum,” pointing to the band’s mix of early Minneapolis energy and hard rock spirit. Other outlets have praised the fast tempos, loud guitars, and strong hooks.

The Bridges That We Burn was recorded at Creation Audio in Minneapolis. John Fields produced, engineered, and mixed the album. Justin Perkins handled mastering at Mystery Room Mastering. The LP keeps the stripped-down trio format while pushing the band’s range in tone and dynamics.

With three singles already out and the full album set for April, ULTRABOMB continues to build momentum. “Look Forward In Anger” stands as a clear statement from three veterans who still play with speed, force, and purpose.
