Lindberg brings personal and heartfelt stories to the light on an alt-folk/country-influenced LP.

Due to the pandemic that has forced many people indoors for much of 2020 and 2021, a lot of music coming out recently has a contemplative quality to it.

Add Jim Lindberg to the growing list. The lead singer and songwriter of renowned punk rock outfit Pennywise gets introspective on his heartfelt, longing, and hopeful new album Songs From The Elkhorn Trail.

Epitaph just released the debut solo acoustic LP from Lindberg, who follows the alt-folk/singer-songwriter path instead of the raucous pummeling romp of Pennywise’s skate punk music.

It’s a big shift in sound/genre, but Lindberg takes it all in stride, reflecting upon his life; the connections with, and sad loss of, family and friends, and his relationship with himself.

Songs From The Elkhorn Trail is available on all digital platforms now. The album will be released on CD and vinyl on May 6th.

Lindberg has unveiled a sweetly amusing music video for the sincere and uplifting track “You’re Not Alone.”

Take a look below at the video that was directed by Rob McConnaughy (The Menzingers, OFF!, Superchunk) and features actor/comedian John Ennis (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Zodiac) and a tenaciously friendly tumbleweed.
