Norwegian hardcore band Ondt Blod are keeping their momentum surging with the release of “FinnmarKING,” a new single taken from their upcoming album Bauta, due March 13 via Playground Music. Following their recent comeback track “AUX,” the Kirkenes-based outfit show no signs of slowing down, delivering another blast of raw energy rooted in northern identity and attitude.
“FinnmarKING” finds Ondt Blod at their most unfiltered and animated. The song rips forward with hardcore force, driven by sharp rhythms and swagger-heavy delivery. Lyrically, it leans into life north of the law, touching on contraband culture, snowmobiles, and reckless freedom with a sense of humor that never dulls the aggression. It’s confrontational without being humorless, fierce while clearly enjoying itself.
The track features a guest appearance from Klish, a rapper deeply tied to northern culture, whose presence adds grit and contrast to the song. The collaboration feels natural, amplifying the track’s defiant tone and grounding it firmly in regional pride. Together, Ondt Blod and Klish create something loud, unpolished, and unmistakably local.
“FinnmarKING” also arrives as a marker of history for the band, coinciding with the ten-year anniversary of their debut album Finnmark. Produced by Yngve Andersen and mixed and mastered by Simon Jackman, the single offers a clear signal of what Bauta will deliver: furious hardcore fused with rock hooks, all performed in Ondt Blod’s Northern Norwegian dialect.
Since forming in 2013, Ondt Blod have built a reputation for direct, politically charged music that confronts racism, power, and everyday struggle while celebrating northern traditions and Sámi pride. Their sound is fast, physical, and grounded in lived experience rather than abstraction.
The band has earned wide recognition over the years, including a Spellemann nomination and extensive touring across Norway, Europe, and Japan. With “FinnmarKING,” Ondt Blod reaffirm their position as one of Norway’s most uncompromising hardcore acts, delivering a track that’s as feral and confrontational as it is rooted in place and identity.
Ondt Blod are Aslak Heika Hætta Bjørn on vocals, Håvard Sotkajærvi Rushfeldt on drums, Jørgen Store Johansen on bass, Alexander Mortensen on guitar, and John Nilsen on guitar.
