This CD tripped me out when I first got it. I had met the Soto brothers when they were in the Shrooms, so I was really looking forward to checking it out. In seeing some of the shows they've played, I was ready for a straight forward ska band. Nothing could be further from the truth. Cellphish is a punk rock band, with the emphasis on the rock. The songs are reminiscent of the punk rock scene in East LA and the SGV in the early 90's. What set Cellphish apart is their horns, which add a fun, old school rock and roll feel to the songs. On the player I'm uploading "Before I Die" which would fucking awesome to see live. All in all, this CD kicks ass. Go pick one up and hit them up on their myspace....
