The Oxys Announce Gritty New Album Casting Pearls Before Swine Out This September Reviewed by Sam Lowry

Casting Pearls Before Swine is The Oxys’ most brutal and unfiltered album yet, blending true crime, addiction, and raw punk fury into a fearless confrontation with the darkest parts of human nature.

Austin punk rockers The Oxys are back with their third full-length album, Casting Pearls Before Swine, arriving September 19, 2025, on Cleopatra Records. Known for their snarling energy and sharp-edged songwriting, the band returns with their most intense work yet—an album that tears into addiction, compulsion, violence, and survival without blinking.

“This is the most insidious of our three albums,” says guitarist and songwriter Ginchy, known for work with Dead Boys and Sylvain Sylvain. The record tackles obsessive love, true crime, and the chaos of modern life, holding nothing back. Ginchy promises a raw, visceral ride through the ugliest and most honest parts of the human condition.

Vocalist Phil Davis digs even deeper. Inspired in part by his own family’s disturbing legacy—namely, his great uncle Joe Ball, the real-life serial killer known as the Butcher of Elmendorf—Davis explores the thin line between violence and attraction. His lyrics confront the darkest parts of desire and compulsion, putting listeners face-to-face with uncomfortable truths and eerie beauty.

The Oxys formed in 2021 as a reaction to pandemic burnout. Ginchy and Davis joined forces to create something alive and unfiltered. Their debut A Date With The Oxys (2022) and follow-up Generation Irrelevant (2023) earned critical praise for their speed, grit, and message. Now, with Genocide on rhythm guitar, Michael Harpel on bass, and new drummer Logan Flaherty, the band is fired up for an exciting next chapter.

Casting Pearls Before Swine will be released on vinyl, CD, and digital formats, with pre-orders available now. Backed by Cleopatra Records, the band continues to challenge the norm with punk that’s fearless and driven by purpose.

If their first two albums kicked down the door, this one storms inside and flips the table.
