Los Angeles troublemakers The Cocks are back, and they’ve turned the volume (and the sleaze) all the way up with their new single “Sugar on The Rim.” Out now on all platforms, the track is a snarling glam‑punk sugar rush that sets the stage for their upcoming sophomore album Endless Hummer, due this October.
Clocking in at under three minutes, “Sugar on The Rim” doesn’t waste time. Guitars slash like switchblades, drums stomp like a riot in four‑inch heels, and frontman Zsa spits quadruple‑entendre lyrics that straddle the line between tequila‑salt flirtation and outright filth. It’s slamming, sexy, and just unhinged enough to keep you guessing whether they’re talking about cocktails, morning coffee, or… something much dirtier.
The chaos doesn’t stop with the music. The single’s video hurls the band into a neon‑lit intergalactic gay bar, where they’re roofied, abducted, and left to party with aliens in a sci‑fi fever dream. Imagine Star Trek on poppers, directed by John Waters, and you’re close. It’s campy, chaotic, and exactly what The Cocks do best.
Since their 2022 debut Loads of Fun—produced by Circle Jerks legend Greg Hetson—The Cocks have been blowing up SoCal’s punk dives with a blend of Ramones hooks, Motörhead grit, and Turbonegro swagger. Their songs (“It’s Better Being Gay,” “Cheeseburgers & Dick”) prove subtlety was never invited to the party; celebration and chaos always were.
“Sugar on The Rim” kicks off the Endless Hummer era with a middle finger, a wink, and a shot of something strong. The message is simple: punk rock is more fun when it’s filthy, fabulous, and completely unbothered.
