Reunited jam-punk legends the Meat Puppets will release their new album, Sewn Together, on Megaforce March 12.
The Kirkwood brothers have been through a lot since their early '90s heyday. Despite Cris Kirkwood's struggles with substance abuse, these guys are still surfing the tidal wave of success that crested when they performed as guest musicians on Nirvana's 1993 MTV Unplugged performance, and the subsequent 1994 record, Too High To Die, went gold. Years of career tides came and went, and though they never really officially broke up, a defacto reunion album, Rise to Your Knees, came in 2007, featuring new drummer Ted Marcus.
SXSW attendees can look forward to hearing songs off Sewn Together played live for the first time at Stubbs on March 19.
