Find My Way Home is a heartfelt and reflective album from My Favourite Things that blends indie pop, soul, and folk to explore themes of change, connection, and emotional growth.

Brooklyn-based band My Favourite Things returns with their fourth album, Find My Way Home—a calm, thoughtful record that mixes indie pop, folk ballads, soul, and dream pop. This album marks a new chapter for the group, leaning into warm melodies and soft, acoustic sounds. It’s a move away from their earlier shoegaze textures and toward something more grounded and natural.

The songs are built with real instruments—Rhodes piano, cello, and trumpet—giving them a human, personal touch. Guest musicians like beatboxer Eliot from Munich, saxophonist Jay Rodriguez, and trumpeter Takuya Nakamura add layers of sound that feel gentle and wide open. The band blends small, quiet moments with full, sweeping parts, creating music that feels honest and clear.

Much of the album comes from personal experience. The lead songwriter says the lyrics were inspired by changes in their life since their last release in 2017, including the effects of the pandemic and losing touch with close friends. The songs reflect on sadness, hope, identity, and the desire to feel at home again.

Tracks like “Let It All Go” and “Find My Way Home” ask big questions—about peace, anger, and what it means to feel connected to others. “Welcome to Me” is about starting fresh and becoming more yourself, while “New York City” is a love letter to a place that once felt like home. Across the album, there’s a strong feeling of reflection—of looking back, learning, and starting again.

When asked about songwriting, the band believes originality and truth are key. They say even a simple song can be powerful if it comes from a real place. Influences range from Bach and the Beatles to Nick Drake and R&B. The songwriter doesn’t rush the process—some songs take years to finish—but they wait for a moment when the song “clicks.”

Find My Way Home is both personal and open. It invites listeners into a space that feels real, peaceful, and full of feeling.
