Rude Grl + CC are an in-yer-face, socially relevant outfit that was formed by three powerhouse music artists: Jenna Dickens (AKA Rude Grl, who has provided backing vocals for Basment Jaxx), renowned Chris Constantinou (otherwise known as CC and who was a member of Adam and the Ants, a song-writing partner to Lou Reed, and part of the bands The Mutants and The Wolfmen), and Bunni Morretto (backing vocalist who was runner-up in Miss Burlesque 2018 UK and is known as twerking expert).
The trio recently won ‘Best Hip Hop Track’ at the PMA Mark awards 2020 for “Helen Keller,” and have garnered attention for their remake of Vince Taylor’s classic “Brand New Cadillac” that was covered by The Clash.
Rude Grl + CC specialize in blending fast-flowing hip-hop raps and beats with gritty punk rock guitars and attitude.
They kick against those in society who oppress and otherwise abuse those who aren’t in positions of power; notably the LGBTQ+ community and racial minorities.
On their debut EP, Like Wow, the band confront subjects that include racial abuse, homophobia, addiction, and sexual violence, but also push a positive message of resilience and recovery.
Rude Grl + CC will unleash their Like Wow EP on January 8th via Firefly Entertainment.
Ahead of its arrival Rebel Noise is stoked to host the premiere of the EP’s lead single, the powerful “Like Wow,” that rampages with boldly defiant, lickety-split rap attacks, grinding rock guitar and bass cycles, and a relentless, hard-thumping beat.
The fierce, but upbeat track is an empowering anthem that flips off the haters and revels in unconditional self-acceptance and appreciation.
