Montreal garage punk band Taxi Girls return with the energetic new single “Say It!” as they prepare for the release of their debut album, Static, arriving June 26 through Stomp Records.

Montreal garage punk band Taxi Girls have released their new single “Say It!,” offering listeners a first look at their upcoming debut album, Static, due out June 26 through Stomp Records.

Formed in 2022, the all-female group has quickly gained attention in Canada’s punk and indie rock scenes with a sound that blends garage rock attitude, punk energy, and power pop melodies. Drawing inspiration from artists such as L7, The Distillers, Bikini Kill, and The Donnas, Taxi Girls have built a reputation for delivering sharp songwriting, driving guitars, and memorable hooks.

“Say It!” highlights many of the qualities that have helped the band stand out. The track moves with urgency while balancing catchy melodies and a raw garage rock edge. A key part of the band’s sound comes from vocalists Jamie Radu and Vera, whose dual-vocal approach gives the song added energy and contrast. Their voices trade lines and work together throughout the track, helping create a dynamic performance that remains focused from start to finish.

The single also introduces listeners to the themes explored across Static. The upcoming album examines experiences including love, loss, mental health struggles, postpartum depression, and nostalgia. While the material addresses difficult subjects, the record also focuses on growth, self-awareness, and finding strength through personal challenges.

“Say It!” arrives alongside a music video and serves as the first release from the album campaign. Taxi Girls will follow it with a second single, “Secret Handshake,” on June 5. Another track, “Midnight Mixtape,” is scheduled to be featured during the album’s release week.

Since their formation, Taxi Girls have continued to build momentum through live performances and growing recognition within the punk community. The band has shared stages with acts including NOFX, Lagwagon, The Hives, Billy Talent, NOBRO, and Pansy Division. Their profile has also expanded internationally after receiving support from Iggy Pop on his BBC 6 Music radio program.

With “Say It!,” Taxi Girls deliver a confident introduction to Static and continue establishing themselves as one of the emerging names in modern garage punk.
