Since first forming in 2019, New York City punk rockers Mala Vista have been keeping the spirit of ’77 alive with their raw, high-energy sound. Often compared to bands like Teenage Head, The Boys, and the Ramones, the group expertly blends classic punk grit with a modern edge that’s all their own.
Fronted by Myke Miranda on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, with Manny Dominguez on bass and backing vocals, Erik LAMF on lead guitar, and Ben Heymann on drums, the quartet has been unstoppable since day one. Originally called Mala Vista Social Club—a tongue-in-cheek nod to Buena Vista Social Club, meaning “bad outlook” or “bad perspective”—they soon shortened the name but kept their bite intact.
Following the release of their second full-length album in 2024, Mala Vista quickly became known for their tight hooks and electric stage presence. Their upcoming EP, Snub Nose .38, offers four catchy, hard-hitting rockers that stick in your head after just one listen. The band calls it a “sneak peek” ahead of their second European tour, which kicks off October 31, 2025—the same day the EP drops.
In the last few years, the group has released two albums, two singles, and played countless shows—all while navigating the challenges of New York’s lockdown. They’ve shared the stage with punk icons like 999, The Zeros, and Exploding Hearts, proving they can hold their own alongside the greats.
Snub Nose .38 is currently available to stream on Bandcamp and will see its official release on limited edition yellow vinyl via Spaghetty Town Records in North America and Ghost Highway Recordings in Europe. With this new EP, Mala Vista continue their charge as one of NYC’s most exciting modern punk bands—loud, fast, and ready to conquer another continent.
