Norwegian punk-hardcore outfit The Mansters are back with a brand new single, “I Should Be Getting More Likes,” a raucous preview of their upcoming album Snapshots from a Shitshow, it's available now via Loyal Blood Records.
Known for their irreverent approach and explosive live presence, The Mansters have never been a band to stay boxed in by genre rules. While their roots lie firmly in hardcore, over the years they’ve stripped away boundaries, letting instinct, chaos, and energy steer the ship. The result is a sound that tears across the punk spectrum, equal parts raw and melodic, reckless and playful.
Snapshots from a Shitshow captures that full range. The record channels the grit of Negative Approach, the hooks of Ramones and 7 Seconds, the urgency of ’90s skate punk, and the emotional impact of 2000s emo. It’s a volatile mix that flips between aggression, catharsis, and irony, sometimes in the span of a single track.
From the blistering opener “The World is My Ulcer” to the shoegaze-leaning closer, the album rides like a chaotic rollercoaster through punk, hardcore, and rock. The Mansters lace their fury with biting humor, creating songs that can be as self-aware as they are ferocious. With snarling riffs, anthemic choruses, and relentless drumming, Snapshots from a Shitshow offers both a punch to the gut and a wink to the crowd.
Lyrically, the record confronts modern absurdities head-on: online validation, beach anxiety, miscommunication, economic stress, and even fan obsession. These themes are filtered through layers of frustration, self-loathing, and sarcasm, making each song feel both urgent and oddly relatable. That mix of desperation and humor gives the album its unique voice — a reminder that punk can be both deadly serious and wildly entertaining at the same time.
With “I Should Be Getting More Likes,” The Mansters prove that they’re not just churning out another hardcore record — they’re redefining what their sound can be, and having fun tearing it all down in the process.
