The music artist unveils an EP, single, and accompanying music video in one fell swoop.

NI Music Prize nominee Sam Wickens has returned to the music realm with his new Watson EP on February 5th, as well as his second single, “Murky Waters,” and its accompanying music video.

The singer-songwriter is known for his soulful voice and heartfelt emotions that traverse a varying sonic landscape of folk, electro, soul, and blues, and has made his a spellbinding live performer.

Lead single “Strange.24” arrived this past November, and Watson is Wickens’ follow-up to his acclaimed debut album All I’ve Seen, which came out in 2019.

About his latest single, Wickens confides, ““Murky Waters” is the realization that I was raised and put through terrible circumstances. Constantly feeling alone through every obstacle that was placed in front of me. Traumatic events seemed to follow me no matter where I ran. I started to believe that I was some sort of gatekeeper, that my purpose was to absorb the terrible things so others didn’t need too.”
