The East Coast heavy crew are set for the release of I Let It Consume Me on July 10

Metalcore breakouts What Lies Below have unleashed their second single of the year, the potent "Leech".

The new track offers sizzling guitars and a ferocious vocal delivery, set against a backdrop of distorted ambience, as the heavy crew rue the feeling of having the life squeezed out of you by someone else.

The band has announced their upcoming album, I Let It Consume Me, set to drop July 10th, via Theoria Records.

Vocalist Andrew Watson explains: "“Leech is about exposing the people and systems that thrive by draining others for their own gain. It captures the tension between survival and integrity, and the breaking point where you’re forced to decide what parts of yourself you’re willing to lose.”

What Lies Below have also announced they'll be joining Jiluka and Mirrorcell for a July run on tyhe following dates, as part of the Japanese metal giants' world tour.

With electrifying live performances and a resonating soundscape, What Lies Below channel some of their pre-eminent heavy heroes, from ERRA to Periphery, whilst exploring new sonic ground, cutting through distinguished production and layered guitars with a resonating viscerality.

Thematically however, What Lies Below stay grounded and unerringly relatable. The songs delve into the complexities of human emotions and experiences, exploring themes of personal struggles, relationships, and inner battles.

After signing to Theoria Records, the East Coast outfit dropped sophomore EP, Darker Colours in late 2023, a collection that would thrust them into the hearts and minds of heavy fans across the region. The shredding riffs, thunderous bass lines, and skull-crushing percussion all contributing to the band's rise over 150K monthly listeners on Spotify.

Following on from January's "Pale Shadow", new single "Leech" shows further growth, as What Lies Below seamlessly blend raw aggression with moments of melodic beauty; an ethereality that's viciously punctuated by the a pummelling sonic weight for an atmosphere ever-palpable.
