THE BRONX – “Bronx VI” (Cooking Vinyl) Album Review
The Bronx
Reviewed by KeithRosson

Here’s the sad thing – I’ve heard the Bronx on a million comp cuts over the years. They’ve been recommended to me by friends. They have approximately a million releases spanning two decades. And this is still the first Bronx full-length I’ve ever listened to. So if there’s a failing here, consider it mine, not theirs. That said, this is some sliiiick-ass rock music. And the bummer is that it reminds me of bands I have been listening to, and great fans of, over the past however many years, most notably Architects and Riverboat Gamblers. I don’t know how well this album stacks up against the Bronx’s previous efforts, but damn, does this thing remind me of Vice or Underneath the Owl; well-crafted, interesting, confident, expertly-produced rock songs that certainly manage to carry their own weight. It’s well done, if familiar, territory, and I’m assuming longtime fans of the band will be floored.
